November is shaping up to be a busy month for Long school:

November 2- No school and Election Day bake sale.

November 3- Late start and no school for Kindergartners

November 5- Orders due to school for Gordon's fundraiser

Hope all our Long Families have a very FUN and SAFE Halloween!  Make sure your child goes trick-or-treating with an adult, uses caution when crossing streets and check your childs candy before they eat it! 

PTA News

A lot of information was covered at the PTA meeting on October 27:

*ON SALE NOW:  The 5th graders are selling raffle tickets for their beautifully designed pumpkins.  Check them out in the showcase in the main hall they are truly unique!

* Long School is purchasing a lot of new technology and equipment for our students with our Title I funds

*Nov 9 Mrs J and several teachers will be presenting our School Improvement Plan to the Superintendent and School Board.  If you have any ideas or would like to contribute input please email Mrs. J

*Cub Scouts are collecting canned goods the week of November 1

*Girl Scouts fall product sale going on now until November 18

*Girls Scouts will be holding a fundraiser at Pump It Up in Taylor on Nov 16 more info to come :)

*Gordons Fundraiser going on now.  Our school will make $4.00 to $6.00 per item sold.  Please try have each student sell a few items!

*Reflections theme this year: "Together we Can" more information on this contest to come

Please join us on December 1 at our next PTA meeting.  Make a difference in your child's life BE INVOLVED!!!

Deeeetroit Basketball

Long Jr Pro kids are selling tickets the the December 29 Pistons v Celtics game. Upper level tickets are only $20 and Lower level tickets are $35.  What a great Christmas gift these tickets will make!  Support our Jr Pro, have a great time and get some Christmas shopping done.  See your favorite Long Jr Pro player or contact Jason Bass or Heather Williams for more info.

7pm October 27- Long School Media Center, PTA meeting.  Hope to see many new families represented!

Fall Fundraiser-Gordons

Long PTA is selling Gordon's entrees and desserts to raise money for our school!  Forms and money should be returned to the office by November 5th.  Pick-up will be on November 19th in cafeteria after school.  Any questions contact Misty Budzisz at 313.468.3584

Week of October 18

MEAP testing this week for upper elementary students October 19, 20 and 21. 

October 22- Fall Festival 5-830pm Volunteers needed; come help out with food, a game, set-up or clean-up!  All help welcome and all Long families welcome to attend. 

Family Math Night

First annual Family Math Night- 630pm tonight at 18700 Audette, The Board Room of the Administration Bldg for Dearborn Public Schools.  Play math games, have some snacks and have a fun time with your child.

Don't forget to turn in your Schwan's orders.  Pick up this Friday, Oct 15 from 11am-7pm

Volunteers needed for Family Fun Night Fall Fest!  Contact Misty Budzisz 313.468.3584 to sign up.  Volunteers needed to set up, run games, work concessions and for clean up!

Upcoming Events: 

Oct 6-our first late start, school to begin at 935 am.  Also Wed Oct 6 no school all day for Kindergartners.

Oct 7- at 7pm Kindergarten Room Parent Tea, come in to meet your child's teacher and learn about upcoming classroom events.

Oct 8-Picture Day. Show us your best smile :)
